Zark's Burger Madness

I've seen that Facebook photo in which there is a crazy queue in front of the Archer's Nook Building in Taft Avenue. I asked my brother, Christopher, about it. He then told me about this great burger place called Zark's Burger. With every description of each burger he tried, I grew excited. I can feel the LDLs sticking to my arteries. Hrhr. And it's decided, we're going to try it! And it's a pretty good timing that our sister, Ate Richie is on a holiday.

Just reading the description for each burger already clogs my arteries. Loljk. Here's the menu and see for yourself:

It's divided into the Minor League and Major League Burgers. Simply put, Minor League Burgers do not include fries and drinks while the Major League is inclusive of fries and drinks.

But what intrigued me about this place are the challenges on the  Jawbreaker and Tombstone burgers.

• Jawbreaker Challenge - You have to finish the triple cheeseburger with Spam, bacon and cheese sauce within 5 minutes. If you do, it's absolutely free. BUT WAIT. THERE'S MORE!
• Tombstone - Finish the 2 pound cheeseburger within 10 minutes and you'll be a legend! Not to mention, you'll get a free shirt if you do not pass out in the process. You also have the bragging rights that you have survived the challenge.

I'm not kidding because they do have a "Wall of Fame" which goes around the entrance of the store:

So here is what we had:

Candy Bacon Burger (Php 170) - My brother recommended this one so I went for it. It's a cheeseburger topped with two slices of caramelized bacon. The sweetness of bacon lends an unexpected punch of sweetness in your usual cheeseburger.

Zark's Ultimate Burger (Php 130) - Ate Richie ordered this one because it's the least sinful of all burgers because it's served with mushroom and veggies. But don't let the veggies fool you because it's a quarter pounder burger served with cheese sauce and bacon.

Jackhammer (Php 185) - Christopher ordered this one and it looks plain and simple but when your teeth sink into the patty, my brother says that it's exploding in cheesy goodness.

Blue Cheese Burger (Php 135) - Charmaine ordered this one and she says that the blue cheese dressing gives a unique flavor to this burger. However,  I do not have a picture of this but I 'll upload as soon as Chamu gives me a copy.

The verdict: The burgers really gave us more than our money's worth. Sobrang nakakabusog. After eating my burger, my swine reflex (inantok pagkatapos kumain) kicked in almost immediately. But I'm taking about it in a good way. This was the first burger I had that gave me that feeling. I posted photos on my Facebook page and quite a number of my friends got curious and wanted to try it out.

I have yet to see one of my friends survive the Jawbreaker and/or Tombstone challenge. Hee-hee!
